We’re swinging into November the best way we know how—with new Birmingham openings, of course. Today we’re running from Homewood to Montevallo in search of the most exciting businesses that are opening in the Birmingham area. Cheers to that!1. Boho Bus Events
Step inside The Boho Bus—Birmingham’s newest event concept. For a girl’s night, friends-giving or any upcoming celebration, you too can rent The Boho Bus from Boho Bus Events. They customize the bus to the event of your choosing with different packages ranging from “The Love Bird Special” to “The Boho Bus Tea”. Each package includes a beautiful spread of food and decor, so that you can have a picture perfect event.
Owner Taegan Crim is Alabama born and So-Cal bred, so she is looking to bring all of the boho vibes to Birmingham to compliment her roots based in Southern hospitality. If you’re looking to be the “hostess with the most-est”, look no further than your own backyard and let Taegan throw the event of your dreams.
2. Sola Salons—Shops at Montevallo
A new Sola Salon location is heading to Montevallo. After three Hoover locations and one in Homewood, franchise owner, King Rogers, is excited to move further south. This location will be next to several major highways and will have close proximity to local grocery stores, so running errands will be a breeze.
While this location is planned to open its doors in early 2022, you can get top notch salon service at any surrounding location. It will have 30 salon spaces and allows independent stylists to have their own creative space.
3. Rodney Scott’s Barbecue
Attention all barbecue lovers: Rodney Scott’s is coming to Homewood. Although we don’t have a guaranteed opening date, they gave us the scoop by letting us know that they’re aiming for mid-late December. Hard to believe that December will be here in the blink of an eye!
For those who don’t know about all of the deliciousness that Rodney Scott’s is serving up, you’re missing out. This barbecue joint has three locations all over the the Southeast and focuses on whole hog barbecue along with traditional Southern sides. Aside from their food, their friendly atmosphere sets them apart.
“There are no strangers at Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ. Everyone has a seat at our table.”

4. Bandit Patisserie—coming soon
We’ve heard through the grapevine that Bandit is officially opening another store front, this time in downtown Birmingham. We love to cover exciting businesses, but it’s even more exciting when they have a story like this one. After their Homewood location closed earlier this year, owners Kristen Farmer Hall and Victor King transitioned to Retail Saturdays at The Market at Pepper Place.
They plan to open adjacent to Bar La Fête, a new Parisian wine bar + kitchen opening in 2022 by Hall and King. These two together will bring fresh energy to the already new Mercantile on Morris. We can’t wait for fresh pastries, bread, croissants and a new espresso bar in their new location.
5. MELT—Lane Parke
As we enter the holiday season and gear up for the start of 2022, it has us thinking about all of our early Spring openings. This is one we definitely need to mark our calendars for—MELT in Lane Parke. This location has us hungry for all the grilled cheese, sandwiches and flavorful salads. Pro tip: we recommend their Chicken Pesto Sandwich.
Stay tuned for construction and opening announcements here and on MELT’s Instagram page. Alongside MELT, more exciting businesses are headed to Lane Parke in early 2022: Chop N Fresh, Ignite Cycle, Jeni’s Ice Cream and BaseCoat on Fifth.
