An Exciting New Pasta Parlor Pops Up Inside Midtown Village Tapas Spot Oloroso - Eater Philly

Meet Remi Ricotta, a new Italian ghost kitchen operating out of chef Townsend Wentz’s temporarily closed Spanish spot Oloroso.

The new takeout-only option for salads, antipasti, pasta, and desserts comes from Oloroso alums and prolific Philly chefs Christopher Godfrey and Jason Peabody. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. (1121 Walnut Street).

Opening starters ($9-$15) include a “five-a-bean” salad, mortadella toast, pickled beets, blistered shishito peppers, and burrata built with Calabrian chili, rabe pesto, celery root, and olive oil.

Chefs Jason Peabody and Chistopher Godfrey debuted an Italian venture out of three-year-old Oloroso.

Pasta mains ($18-$20) include goat cheese and fig ravioli and short rib ragu pappardelle, along with specials like a $10 special cacio e pepe rigatoni doused with 24-month parmesan. For dessert, there’s dirty chai tiramisu blasted with dark rum, sourdough bread pudding, and cannolis. Sandwiches will join the mix soon.

Peabody’s culinary resume includes stints at Junto, Lacroix, Nectar, and The Fountain at The Four Seasons Hotel, and Godfrey was most recently sous chef at French BYO Bibou.

To showcase its new menu, Remi Ricotta is scheduled to serve a four-course dinner on Monday, January 18, featuring hibiscus cured tilefish; hand-cut pappardelle with mushroom ragu; wood grilled prawns; and dark chocolate mousse. The meal ($45) is available for pickup at Oloroso between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., with vegetarian and vegan substitutions available.
