Warriors fans hoping to finally see Kevin Durant play against the Warriors at Chase Center will have to wait, as the Brooklyn Nets star has been ruled out indefinitely with a sprained MCL. The Nets will visit Chase Center on Jan. 29, and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports there is "optimism" Durant will be out 4-6 weeks.
Durant left Brooklyn's Saturday night win over the New Orleans Pelicans after appearing to tweak that knee while defending on a fastbreak.

It would not have been Durant's first appearance at Chase Center, as he and the Nets beat the Warriors during the 2020-21 season. However, Warriors fans were not permitted to attend home games at that point of the season.
On the season, Durant is averaging 29.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
Perhaps we could see a Warriors-Nets matchup in the NBA Finals down the road, but outside of that Warriors fans will have to wait another season to see Durant play his first game back in front of the Bay Area fans.
