Highland Park coffee shop focuses on dozens of craft roasters from across the country
Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea, a soon-to-open cafe in the Highland Park neighborhood, will give coffee-lovers the option of choosing beans from more than a dozen craft roasters from across the country. The cafe, which will open in early 2021, is billed as the first of its kind in Dallas, and will also offer a large selection of teas, kombucha and cold brew on tap, and coffee flights, alongside breakfast, lunch and small bites. The company already operates either other locations in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and LA. The Dallas location, at 4514 Cole Avenue, will be the first in Texas.
Two new restaurants land at Trinity Groves
Two new restaurants, one offering fresh poke and the other selling wings by the pound, have opened in Trinity Groves. Hula Girl Poke, which serves up build-your-own poke bowls, and LB Wings, which offers up yardbird in flavors like green curry and spicy orange sambal alongside more traditional Buffalo wings, join several existing restaurants offering takeout and delivery from the center’s restaurant incubator program. In addition, two other eateries, Babbs Brothers BBQ and vegetarian restaurant V-Eats, have reopened after being closed due to the pandemic.
LADA will bring Tex-Mex comfort food to North Dallas in November
A restaurant focused on “artisanal” enchiladas and other Tex-Mex comfort food will open in far North Dallas in mid-November. LADA is helmed by chef Michael Ehlert, who was previously the executive chef at Mirador and The French Room, both in Dallas. The menu will feature locally-sourced ingredients in dishes like the cider-glazed steak and chipotle-mahi enchiladas. Micheladas, freshly-made agua fresca and craft beer will also be served. The restaurant will be located at 6859 Arapaho Road.
