In what was certainly one of the most exciting college football games of the season so far, No. 17 Ole Miss defeated No. 13 Arkansas 52-51 on Saturday afternoon, coming off the field victorious with a two-point conversion stand to end the shootout.
The Rebels improved to 4-1 on the season, and did so in front of several talented prospects.
“Really fun offense to watch,” Top247 quarterback Devin Brown said. The USC commit is on an official to Oxford. “Super physical game. Some really well-timed deep shots. (Matt) Corral was money. Super tough when he tucked the ball ran. He’s a really exciting player to watch.”
Other prospects on campus felt the same way.
“Man, the game was crazy,” Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill 2023 tight end Ethan Davis said. “I spent a lot of time with Coach (John David) Baker before and after, so that was definitely a bonus. The game and the whole atmosphere was just unreal, they throw the ball and run the ball a good amount of times pretty evenly and they have a lot of energy and everything stood out to me!
“Right now they’re No. 1.”
“I’m having a great experience in Oxford,” Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2024 receiver Jack Ressler said. “High-energy staff, high-powered offense, and an amazing community. I like the fast-tempo offense and how they push the ball down the field. I can definitely see myself thriving under Coach Kiffin and Lebbey at Ole Miss!”
Four-star in-state 2022 linebacker Stone Blanton wasn’t able to make it but he was tuned in.
“It was crazy!” Blanton stated. “I have a lot of friends that were there and said the atmosphere was unbelievable! I loved the way the Rebs battled the whole game. It was a great win!”
