Chelsea have been linked with a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic with the club reportedly reaching out to the Old Lady to discuss a move for the player. The 22-year-old could come in as a replacement for the injured Armando Broja and immediately challenge Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a starting berth. Here Express Sport details how Chelsea could line up if they complete the move and propose two other potential new signings to complete Graham Potter’s XI.
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga
The Spaniard appears to have won control of the No 1 jersey since Potter’s arrival starting every game that the Englishman has been in charge before picking up an injury. He is nearing full fitness again now and is expected to go straight back in between the sticks given his superior ball-playing ability in comparison to Eduoard Mendy.
Defenders: Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly
Chelsea spent over £150million on defenders over the summer and may just have persisted with their current options given the expenditure. Silva remains the best centre-half at the club and is a certainty to start in the middle of the back three while Fofana has shown his quality outside of his injury troubles.
The last spot has more competition with Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah among the options for the position however Koulibaly may be the best option. The Senegal captain has shown in flashes what he is capable of on the left side of the back three and will make the position his own if he can reach that level regularly.

Wingbacks: Reece James, Ben Chilwell
The right wing-back position essentially chooses itself with James completely undroppable. The Blues' performances fell off a cliff after his knee injury against AC Milan will return to the side now he is fully fit.
Chilwell remains the best option on the left despite his persistent injury troubles and will hope to find the kind of form he was starting to show before his hamstring issue on his return.
Midfielders: Matteo Kovacic, Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea have missed the energetic presence of N’Golo Kante but the Frenchman will not be ready to return after the January transfer window as he continues his recovery from a hamstring issue. Kovacic is the best midfield option currently at the club and can expect to start in the medium term.
Kante’s continued injury issues may encourage Todd Boehly to get the chequebook out and Fernandez may be the move to make. Chelsea are one of the clubs linked with the 21-year-old’s signature after an excellent World Cup with Argentina and would be an exciting addition to the side.

Forwards: Mason Mount, Dusan Vlahovic, Rafael Leao
The Blues have badly struggled going forwards at times this season and the frontline is one area the club are likely to strengthen. Vlahovic would start in the No 9 position taking over from the somewhat underwhelming Aubameyang.
A player who could join him is Rafael Leao. The AC Milan forward has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last six months and could help transform the frontline alongside his fellow Serie A star. Mount is the current Chelsea star most likely to join them in the front three with Potter the latest in a host of managers to value his tactical flexibility.
