SVG SportsTech On Demand: Intel Sports' Adam Goldfaden on the Exciting Growth of Volumetric Video - Sports Video Group

In an effort to keep the broadcast-technology community informed this spring, throughout April, SVG is hosting a series of SportsTech On Demand video interviews with executives from the industry’s top technology vendors discussing their latest product releases and company news. Our Brandon Costa sat down with Adam Goldfaden, producer, Intel Sports, about the company’s efforts.

Goldfaden breaks down the exciting technological developments his company is leading the charge on as it relates to volumetric video. Intel Sports is driving the next wave of innovative technologies that are transforming fan experience by bringing fans closer to the game via immersive media experiences – ultimately providing a new perspective to the game and new ways to interact with their favorite sports content with volumetric video.

Volumetric Video is an emerging media format allowing content creators the ability to produce compelling, interactive, personalized stories that fully immerse a person in the action. The scene is captured once thus removing the limits of a physical camera’s position. It uses an array of dozens of 5K cameras surrounding the entire area of action and captures two-dimensional pixels and renders it as three-dimensional voxels. Learn more about what volumetric video is and what its all about through a VIDEO produced by Intel Sports.
