The City of Marble Falls, the Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation, and Phoenix Hospitality Group collaborate on a full-service hotel and conference center
MARBLE FALLS, Texas, July 2, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The City of Marble Falls, the Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and Boerne-based Phoenix Hospitality Group (PHG) are pleased to announce the execution of a memorandum of understanding among the three parties to collaborate on the building of a full-service hotel and conference center. The hotel will be located at the south end of Main Street on a site currently owned by the EDC that overlooks Lakeside Park and Lake Marble Falls. Recent improvements to the park include a lakefront beach and an extensive trail system, and new amenities such as a boardwalk and gardens are being designed now. The hotel itself will feature approximately 120 guest rooms, 21,000 square feet of conference, event and ballroom space, a lakefront restaurant and bar, and a rooftop venue.
Ed McClure, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Hospitality Group, explained that "Extensive work has been done over the past year by both the Marble Falls team and Phoenix Hospitality Group to design and bring to fruition a remarkable hotel that will become the hospitality center of Marble Falls." McClure continued, "In 2019, we opened the Bevy Hotel in Boerne, which was subsequently awarded the 'Best Boutique Hotel in Texas'. We are near completion of the design phase of the Marble Falls hotel, utilizing the same design team we used in Boerne. I can comfortably say the Marble Falls hotel is even more exciting than the tremendous Boerne project with added amenities and, of course, the irreplaceable lakefront."

The approach at this time is an affiliation with Hilton Hotels and, in particular, their Tapestry Collection of unique boutique hotels. Cooper Carry, an award-winning architecture firm, has crafted their current design with substantial input from Tapestry officials. There have also been discussions with Kimpton, Hyatt, and Marriott Hotel Corporations. A final decision will be made very soon.
On June 16th, The City Council of Marble Falls approved the memorandum of understanding executed between the parties, now allowing this project to move forward at full speed.
