Nintendo has announced the release date for Pokemon Sword & Shield’s upcoming expansion, The Crown Tundra, along with other exciting details.
Today, Nintendo announced a ton of new Pokémon information via a direct leading to the announcement that the new Pokemon Sword and Shield add-on, The Crown Tundra, will be available on Thursday, October 22nd.
Massive amounts of information was announced and here’s a simple breakdown.
One of the big things they talked about was that, via a series of stages in which you journey deep into the caves where the normal raid battles take place, you can encounter all of the Legendary Pokémon. While this is exciting there are two things that we need to consider.
Firstly, notice how it says “Legendary.” This means that it’s not confirmed yet if several of the Mythical Pokémon will be available yet. That means my personal favorite, Meloetta, may STILL not be available and shame on you for not including the queen.
But secondly, note that little fine print at the bottom.
Some of the legendaries are going to be specific to the title. I don’t think they’re going to do that with any of the trios as that would just be dirty but I can guarantee every set of duos is going to have this. Groudon and Kyogre, Dialga and Palkia. Those that were specific to one title are more than likely going to stay that way.
Another awesome thing they showcased in the reveal is that groups, where you partner up with people, are going to have more information about the Pokemon they’re choosing. Now you will not only know what Pokemon they’re using but you’ll be able to see their moves. This will be helpful if you want to make sure your party has a healer or let you know why someone is bringing along a specific one (which is hopefully more than just showing off shinies, quit doing that, it’s not helpful to the group).
Another cool thing is you’ll finally be able to evolve your Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowking which looks incredible but also implies a very dark fate for the Pokemon itself.
Again, this is all going to drop soon on October 22nd and I am hyped. Check here for our follow up content on the rest of the reveals such as the Galarian Star Tournament, Special Retail Versions and Events Coming Up and the Exciting New Update to Pokemon Home!
