Practice began this week for the Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team.
The Michelle Clark-Heard coached club returns a veteran roster which looks to earn its first American Athletic Conference championship this season.
Last year, the Bearcats posted a 22-10 mark and earned a trip to the AAC tournament finals before the season came to a screeching halt.
It is still unclear what the Bearcats schedule will look like. Down the Drive will keep you posted on that.
No matter where and when they play, senior forward Ilmar’i Thomas must be considered among the contenders not only for conference player of the year but the national player of the year award. She has been a veritable double-double machine for three years and the AAC is now her conference.
