Championship week kicked off with a bang Friday night, as Utah and UTSA won the Pac-12 and Conference USA title games, respectively. It was Utah’s second win over the Ducks — who once found themselves very much in the thick of the College Football Playoff — and like the one earlier this season, it wasn’t particularly close. The Roadrunners played in a more exciting game, topping the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 49-41 in a shootout to take the C-USA.

Saturday is more of the same, with a slate of eight conference title games waiting for us. We took a look at the five most exciting and must-watch, so let’s get to it.

5 Big Ten: No. 2 Michigan (-11.5) vs. No. 13 Iowa

The Wolverines are on a tear right now, taking out rival Ohio State last week and jumping into the No. 2 spot in the latest CFP Rankings. Now, all they have to do is stay there. The 10-2 Hawkeyes (7-2, Big Ten) won the West, earning a matchup with Jim Harbaugh and Michigan in the title game.

Based on Michigan’s recent performance, it’s easy to anticipate a comfortable win for the Wolverines. Will Iowa be able to slow down Michigan’s powerful running attack?

4 ACC: No. 15 Pitt (-3.5) vs. No. 16 Wake Forest

The College Football Playoff isn’t in the mix for the ACC title game, but two of the nation’s best quarterbacks are squaring off in Charlotte on Saturday night. Kenny Pickett, the ACC Player of the Year and long shot Heisman candidate, led the Panthers to a Coastal Division title. All-ACC Second Team QB Sam Hartman and the Demon Deacons unseated Clemson in the Atlantic Division, ending the Tigers’ six-game title game appearance streak.

This will almost certainly be a shootout — which is clear with that 70.5 O/U — and don’t expect to see much (if any) defense.

3 Big 12: No. 9 Baylor vs. No. 5 Oklahoma State (-6.5)

Woo boy, the stakes are high. Depending what happens elsewhere on Saturday, the Cowboys could be looking at a spot in the CFP with a win. Like Notre Dame — who isn’t playing in a conference title game as an independent — OSU has to get some help from Houston, Georgia, and/or Iowa if they want in.

Oklahoma State is on a five game win streak, and are just a three-point loss to Iowa State from being undefeated. Baylor will be looking to play spoiler and avenge a 10-point loss to these same Cowboys from earlier in the season.

2 SEC: No. 1 Georgia (-6.5) vs. No. 3 Alabama

This could be a low-pressure affair for the Bulldogs — win or lose, Georgia is in. UGA even has a high likelihood of staying No. 1 regardless of outcome on Saturday afternoon. Alabama, on the other hand, could need a win to compete for the National Championship. Bama’s lone loss of the season came by three points to Texas A&M.

Georgia’s defense has been stifling all season, with no opponent scoring more than 17 points against Kirby Smart’s squad. If this has the feel of a national title game instead of a conference one, that’s because it likely could be.

1 AAC: No. 4. Cincinnati (-10.5) vs. No. 21 Houston

No pressure, Cincinnati, but the hopes and dreams of a Group of 5 team making the CFP rests wholly on your shoulders. The Bearcats are one of two undefeated teams left (with Georgia being the other), and they’re currently sitting at No. 4. You’d think it’s a win-and-they’re-in situation (we’ve seen the committee do crazier things, to be honest) but it’s not going to be a walk in the park for Desmond Ridder and Cincy.

Houston has lost just one game this season — the opener against Texas Tech — and the Cougars are undefeated in conference play. Quarterback Clayton Tune has thrown for 3,013 yards and 26 touchdowns, so this could end up being a shootout.

Game Line: Cincinnati -10.5, Houston +320 ML, O/U 52.5
