Horizon Forbidden West, like its predecessor, contains several NPC conversations in which Aloy can learn more about the character or the current situation. The extra dialogue scenes aren't going to give players extra items or anything like that, but they can help with diving deeper into Horizon Forbidden West's world. However, the game doesn't stray far from the main story path, meaning that there really aren't any choices or decisions that can shape the narrative. As for a "choice" that players make early on in the game in mission 4, "The Embassy," this guide will go over what happens if players choose one answer over the other.

Once Aloy makes it to the Embassy, she'll eventually have a conversation with Commander Nozar and Studious Vaudis. Aloy wants to start heading out further west, and she doesn't want to wait for the tribes to arrive, but the commander insists on Aloy waiting for the third clan to arrive, which upsets Aloy. This will give players two choices, but one of them doesn't really change anything, and the other progresses the narrative. Should Horizon Forbidden West players choose to wait or go now? Here's the answer.

I'll Wait

If Horizon Forbidden West players choose the option that says "I'll wait," then Aloy will leave the two men and continue exploring the Daunt. Selecting this will not impact the story in any way and is only used to halt players' progression in the story temporarily. Choose this if players want to keep leveling up and earning skill points before proceeding with the finale of mission 4, which ends in a big fight. Once players are ready to continue, they just need to head back to the Embassy and speak with Commander Nozar.

I'm Going Now

If players choose the "I'm Going Now" option during The Embassy mission, Aloy decides to try to go through the gate anyways even though the third clan has yet to arrive and the Tenakth horn hasn't been sounded. Once Aloy begins to leave the commander and Vaudis, a Carja guard will notify everyone that someone is approaching on a machine, and it turns out to be Aloy's buddy, Varl. Aloy goes up to the guards protecting the gate, and they will not let her through, and even the commander threatens to arrest Aloy.

Erend speaks up to Nozar, and although he's a little drunk, convinces the commander to let Aloy through the gates, where a final battle will take place between clans to close up the Horizon Forbidden West mission.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now for PS4 and PS5.
