While we love to root for all of the smaller family-owned eateries, we also have no problem showing some love to national (and international) concepts if they deserve it. And lucky for us here in Central Ohio, there are a lot of worthy eateries on their way. Here a list of some of the larger national eateries moving into Central Ohio that we’re most excited about.
The Yard Milkshake Bar, 1055 N. High St.
This fast-growing new milkshake concept, which was recently featured on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” is slated to bring its decadent dessert creations to the Short North. There’s no opening date set yet, but The Yard recently mentioned a grand opening is coming very soon on its social media pages.
Tous Les Jours, 2851 Olentangy River Rd.
This unique bakery concept, which blends aspect of both French and South Korean baking, operates 1,600 stores worldwide, with roughly 50 of them in the United States. Customers can expect items like green tea cloud cake, melon bread and much more. No opening date has been announced.

Myungrang Hot Dog, 850 N. High St.
Just like Korean corn dogs have been exploding across the food sector of the internet recently, this international Korean corn dog concept is rapidly expanding into the United States. The first Myungrang Hot Dog concept in Ohio is coming to the Short North soon: A Myungrang Hot Dog representative confirmed the store should open before the end of spring.
Bubbakoo’s Burritos, 6048 Sawmill Rd.
While Bubbakoo’s has already opened—the eatery held its grand opening in late March—this popular East Coast concept deserves a spot on our list. Bubbakoo’s, a fast-casual taco and burrito restaurant, allows diners to fully customize their food, from proteins to sauce and everything in between.
Torchy’s Tacos, 3730 W. Dublin Granville Rd.
This Austin, Texas-based taco eatery is coming to the city’s Northwest side at the site of a former Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant. It’s bringing an additional location to Polaris as well. Torchy’s hasn’t announced a grand opening date yet.
The Halal Guys, multiple locations
This popular spot for gyros, falafel and more started on the East Coast before making its way across the country. Currently, seven different Halal Guys locations are in the works for the Columbus area. While no opening date has been announced, we do know the eatery’s first Central Ohio storefront will be located at 6181 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin.
Dave’s Hot Chicken, multiple locations
Dave’s Hot Chicken has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity recently, and now the red-hot restaurant with equally hot chicken is coming to Columbus. Dave’s is planning to bring multiple locations to the area,. We know the the first two stores will be located at 3590 W. Dublin Granville Rd. and 15 E. 15th Ave. The former is slated for an opening in Q1 of 2022; the latter will likely see a Q3 opening.
Caribou Coffee, location not yet determined
After being gone for nearly a decade, Caribou Coffee is officially returning to Central Ohio. Mike Mariola Restaurants and Crawford Hoyings have partnered with Caribou to bring the chain back to the area. According to an initial press release announcing the move, the deal will bring multiple locations to the area, although the addresses and opening dates of them have not been been determined yet.
