Happy Monday, Birmingham. It’s a new week, and we are serving you brand new openings that are bringin’ the heat plus some that will leave you with a fresh perspective. Keep reading for all the details and add these to your list to check out.
1. Whole Latte Drip
Birmingham has no problem staying caffeinated, and we are always excited about a new coffee spot—especially one that travels to wherever you are. The downtown Birmingham community will be seeing a lot of Whole Latte Drip, as the truck currently hangs mostly downtown with plans to expand into the metro. They focus on all forms of coffee and are known for their vegan cinnamon roll. Sign us up!
Since this coffee shop is mobile, the possibilities are endless. Want to have the truck at your event? The team at Whole Latte Drip can make it happen. Brb, booking an office coffee hour!
2. Afric Embroidery and Designs
Join the celebration with some new threads from Afric Embroidery and Designs. Not only are they able to embroider and digitize, but they also sell indigenous African and Caribbean Apparel, art, artifacts and so much more. Want a personal touch? They design custom clothes that fit your vision and personal style, so you can be dressed to the nines in their gorgeous fabrics.
This new Titusville business is thrilled to open their doors and meet their customers. Stop in today to celebrate African culture and source the best. Their slogan is “Changing lives one stitch at a time” and we are excited to watch them thrive in their new location.
3. Sonic Drive-In | Meadowbrook
There’s a new opening in town, and it’s Sonic. The sign has been spotted and plans are underway to build a Sonic Drive-In on Highway 280. A cheeseburger while sitting in 280 traffic? Yes, please! This news is big for Birmingham, with only four locations in the Birmingham metro.
In case you don’t know, Sonic is known for quick service, a fun drive-in atmosphere—oh, and some of the best mozzarella sticks in town. We are counting down the days until construction breaks ground.
4. AEIVA – “Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass Incarceration”
Catch this remarkable exhibit in the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts. “
Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass Incarceration” features art made in prisons and by non-incarcerated artists to explore the concepts of state repression, erasure and imprisonment. As we toured the exhibit, we were impacted by the stories of the artists and those who are telling their stories. Tickets are free, but in limited supply to make sure we are all COVID safe. This exhibit runs until December 11, so be sure to grab your tickets now.
That’s all we’ve got this week, Bham! We can’t wait to celebrate these new openings on our Instagram here. Catch ya next week!
