Lyft has added a "Wait & Save" option across most of the United States and Canada, offering rides at a lower fare for passengers willing to have a longer wait time. The option provides a fare lower than the standard fare, and the longer the wait required, the lower the fare. Lyft did not specify how the discount is calculated. Lyft added the option, which it already has tested in a pilot phase, to replace the Shared Ride option, which it has shut off to slow the spread of Covid-19, as a cheaper option for passengers.
