Artworks is a local non-profit located in Big Rapids, and they are truly invested in connecting our community through performances, classes, and special programs that make art accessible for everyone.
They offer so many classes including pottery, basket weaving, photography, glass, painting and drawing.
This Friday, August 20th Artworks will have Ferris University’s Dr. Fred Heck, reading the History of the Earth in Rock Formations. This event will be held at noon the in the Batdorff Gallery.
Make sure to check out some of their exciting upcoming events! One that cover’s a controversial topic on in vitro fertilization treatments is called 1 in 8: The Hope Zone, and is a play written by Emily Aslakson, who actually went through her own journey with this. Performances are Friday and Saturday, August 27th and 28th at 7 PM and Sunday, August 29th at 2:30 PM.
Another big upcoming event is the Gala 2021. This is an indoor and outdoor event where there will be a live and silent auction, cash bar, catered food, raffles, and door prizes! It will be held September 17th. Tickets are available for purchase at The Painted Turtle Gift Shop inside Artworks.
