People in Kent have long wondered why we don't have our own London Underground station.
The Tube actually has stops in Essex and the new Elizabeth Line means it also now extends as far as Reading as well.
Locals even went to the trouble of naming the Kent destinations in desperate need of their own stations.
But, of course, this fell on deaf ears.
The major change being made to the London Underground’s Oyster card which you need to know about
So why are we being snubbed?
Well, don't fear, because if Crossrail ever gets completed, there are some exciting new developments on the horizon and it could mean Kent finally holds a spot on the iconic London Underground map
The upcoming Elizabeth Line is due to run from Reading or Heathrow Airport all the way through West and Central London out through East London, branching off to end in Shenfield, Essex and Abbey Wood, MyLondon reports.
The project has been delayed several times, to the frustration of many, but the new target for completion is "as soon as practically possible" in 2021.
And as long as it is completed soon, Crossrail may be getting an extension that wasn't initially planned.
A recent future planning strategy between the Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL) outlines this possible extension.
It's been suggested that Crossrail could extend from Abbey Wood into Kent.
The hope is that this would "better connect people in Thameside and Abbey Wood with neighbouring town centres in the London Borough of Bexley and further afield into Kent".
It would also hopefully unlock "development potential in these areas".
The plan sets out an ambition to extend the Elizabeth Line from Abbey Wood to Ebbsfleet along the North Kent Line.
Ebbsfleet is just beyond Dartford, and Bluewater Shopping Centre, and just before Gravesend.
The train station there, Ebbsfleet International, also serves the Eurostar, so you can get directly to Paris, Brussels and Lille.
As well as these extension ideas, there's the plans to enhance capacity on the existing Elizabeth Line route by lengthening trains by 20 per cent or running more frequent services than is currently suggested.
So it would all be really helpful for those of us who live in the surrounding Kent areas and commute into London for work.
While we currently have the option to go to into places like London Bridge, Victoria, Charing Cross and Cannon Street, the Elizabeth Line would provide a direct route into so many more places in London without the need to change onto the Tube.
Crossrail will have stations in places like Canary Wharf, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road, Paddington and Heathrow, as well as many more.
The potential development is part of much wider plans to regenerate areas in south east London along what's known as the Thames Estuary Corridor.
This includes Thameside and Abbey Wood but also Woolwich, Bexley Riverside, the Royal Docks and Beckton Riverside.
What else?
Looking elsewhere on the Tube map, the new Bakerloo line from Elephant and Castle is already set to stretch as far south as Lewisham.
The new route has confirmed four new stations, two on the Old Kent Road and others at Lewisham and at New Cross Gate.
And TfL has already announced that it wants the project to be completed by 2028/29.

The Mayor of London's transport body also said it was committed to a second phase of the extension beyond Lewisham.
This second phase could call at Carford, Beckenham, Elmers End, West Wickham and Hayes.
